2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin along the north side of Harlan County reservoir. Bedroom #1 which we refer to as the "fishing bedroom" has a queen bed and extra space for a cot or air mattress if you want to bring one. Bedroom #2, aka the "hunting bedroom" has 2 twin beds and a full size bed. 6 people stay comfortably, 7-8 can be accommodated if you want people to sleep on the couch in the living room. Fresh linens, bath, and kitchen towels provided. Full kitchen with all the cookware you will need (refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, crock pot, toaster etc). Living room/dining room face the lake. 1 bathroom that has a shower only. Cabin is air conditioned. The back deck faces the lake and ponderosa pine trees line the yard for shade and relaxation. A covered patio table is in the back yard and you can use our gas grill. There is not WiFi at the cabin, however there is outstanding cell phone coverage. There is a television that has a DVD player and some movies are provided but there is not cable or satellite. Fire pit and lawn chairs are in the back yard for evening entertainment. There is plenty of room for whatever yard games you want to bring. Blue Tooth speakers for your music are provided. Please keep the size of the fires reasonable and do not use fire pit in high winds. Put fire out each night when retiring for the night. You will need to bring your own firewood. Easy lake access and we catch fish off the bank below the cabin all summer long. Bank fishing does slow down in August. Boat launching both north and south of the cabin at Methodist, Hunter, or Gremlin Cove, they are all three less than a 10 minute drive. This is a cabin with an approximate size of about 850 SF. We sit on the north side of the lake across from Prairie Dog bay. The weekends are great but if you can find a way to stay during the week it is wonderful as the lake traffic is less than 25% of what it is on the weekend and these are some of the best days to be out on the water or at the beaches. We do allow a dog to stay, however, it must remain on a leash and you HAVE to clean up after it and keep it out of neighboring cabin yards. As you can see from the photos Harlan County reservoir is a hunter and fisherman's paradise. Our cabin reflects this in it's décor and how it is set up. If you like to hunt, fish, or relax at the lake come stay with us.

The Blue House is a large Morton building outfitted with living quarters in the back third of the building. Downstairs you'll find a small living room, kitchen, master bath & laundry room and the master bedroom. Upstairs is accessed through a separate entrance in the garage. It has 4 large bedrooms and an additional bathroom. This rental is perfect for large groups of fishermen, hunters, families or retreats. You'll have a lot of room to hang out in the garage. Feel free to fry up your catch of the day outside or cook a full meal deal in the kitchen!

There is also a large covered back deck with patio table and chairs and area for relaxing and meals. Soft lighting makes this a great place to enjoy the warm summer evenings in Nebraska. Indoors we have lots of space including a large family room with fireplace and table and chairs for extra seating. There is also a living room with open kitchen and dining area. On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms with King beds. One bedroom includes a open half bath. There is also a pantry area set up for gatherings that has lots of shelving for overflow food storage and counter space for buffet style serving. I have anticipated your needs for group entertaining and pantry includes a large roaster, divided warming tray, crock pot, drink dispensers and several large bowls and platters for serving. In this home there is only one full bath with shower and tub. When large groups are showering, we recommend you take advantage of the showers that are a short drive over to Hunter Camp ground. Upstairs is a split level bedroom that has 1 Queen bed, 1 twin bed and a cushioned roll away bed. This is a large area and would have enough room for air beds if needed. There is also a long open balcony overlooking family room that has 2 twin beds and a futon. There is also extra room in this area for air mattresses. This also allows access the outdoor balcony with sliding glass doors. This home is extremely well insulated and very quiet for those of you looking for lots of peace and serenity. Nebraska is known for its summer storms and we have a large above ground storm shelter to keep you safe during your stay. Easy to access from the screened in porch. We also have a pop-up camper that will sleep 6 that is available to rent. It is under a covered area and just feet from the door. Cushions provided but you will be responsible for your own sleeping bags and pillows. We will have it all set up with electricity provided to it. Please contact us to make arrangements for reservations on this. There is plenty of yard space and you are also welcome to set up tents if needed. Harlan County Lake is found in south central Nebraska and is located in the very beautiful Republican Valley. This lake offers the best in lake fun and has some of the best fishing and hunting in Nebraska. Go to to see local activities! Late summer tubing down the Republican River is also a favorite. We have several large tubes for you to rent if you are up for a float down this lazy river. We also have a paddle boat available for you to rent that is best used off of the lake in boat launch areas. Boat rentals are also available at North Shore Marina that is just down the road. If you have your own boat, you will be able to launch it at Hunter Cove which is about 1/2 mile from the cabin. We also have parking for your boat when it is out of the water. We will consider your pet for approval. Small pets only indoors. We have a leash law in the area and no pets are allowed to run freely. The house sits on a large corner lot, with off street parking as well as an area to park a car inside. Sit outside and enjoy smores around the outside fireplace as you enjoy the quiet and serenity of a small town. The house as been completely remodeled, and still has the original oak floors, and un-painted original woodwork. House as 2 queen beds with a hide-a-bed queen size couch. Fully furnished kitchen with a barbecue grill outside available. We do request from all guests not to smoke in the house, as a favor to all future guests.

Tucked away on a quiet street backing a wooded area and stream is our charming bungalow. Franklin is the best of both worlds, quiet country living with the amenities of the city less than 70 miles away. We are a short drive from Harlan Reservoir which has great boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, horseback riding and camping. There are many great hunting spots in the area and hunters come from all over north America to hunt in our county. You won't find bright lights and the bustle of the city here but you will find friendly people, a small grocery store, a few restaurants with great food and a relaxed atmosphere, great parks, public swimming pool, and you can see our beautiful Nebraska sunsets in the evening and lots of stars in the sky at night. Our home is a bungalow style. We have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and one bedroom down. It has been well kept and maintained. Both bathrooms have had many updates including a new shower in one. The house has lots of room with a California king bed in one room, a king bed in another, a king and 2 twins in another and another room with a queen bed. There are large closets in each room with hangers provided for our guests. Ceiling fans in some rooms as well as central air keeps the home cool. The living room is cozy and equipped with a nice sofa and several chairs, the sofa does pull out to make a full size bed also. There is a breakfast nook in the kitchen as well as table and chairs in dining room. Kitchen is equipped fully with pots and pans, dishes and utensils. There is also a grill in the backyard and grilling utensils are provided for that as well. Guests have full use of the Keurig coffee maker and there is a large variety of tea and coffee and cocao available for our guests. We provide wifi (fastest in our rural area) free of charge to our guests. Please note though that this is a very rural area and we cannot promise that our internet speed will be comparable to what our guests from the city are used to. We do provide Google Chromecast device on our TV which allows our guests to stream from their smart phone or device. There is no cable tv and no local television channels available, please make note of that prior to stay, if cable TV is imperative to your stay we cannot accommodate that. The internet provided is very reliable however we cannot promise or guarantee that it will work every day all day and we also cannot guarantee that if it goes down during your stay that we can get a repairman to our rural location before your stay is over. No refunds will be given for guests unsatisfied with internet speed or connectivity. Our home is equipped with central heat and air. We ask that you DO NOT adjust temperature by more than 3 deg at a time as this can short circuit things and cause air or hear to stop working and create costly repair bills. The home is on a septic sewer system so we kindly remind all guests that absolutely no waste other than toilet paper can be flushed down the toilets, any diapers, wipes or feminine hygiene supplies must be disposed of in garbage. All garbage needs to be put in large bin in garage and kept closed as like any country location garbage attracts skunks, racoons, possums. There is a smart TV in front living area/dining room. You can use wifi to stream Netflix, YouTube, etc directly through the TV. The big TV in back living room is equipped with a Google Chromecast device for streaming from your smart phone or device using the wifi we provide. Neither TV has cable, satellite or local channels. Please make note of this, we want our guests to be happy, we will not provide refunds after the fact for guests unhappy that they could not access cable TV. We do provide wifi for our guests free of charge and we use the fastest method of wifi available in our rural area. We cannot guarantee that it as fast as the internet in your own home. In addition, there is private access to the Platte River which is the perfect setting for bird watching, especially cranes during crane season! The owner will also help you set up on the Platte River for private bird watching. We are conveniently located to the south of Shelton, Nebraska off of Interstate 80. You will have unlimited access to the Platte River for optimal crane viewing all season long! Hunting Season Guided waterfowl hunting and lodging package deals available. The apartment is located inside a newly constructed shed/barn.
